Studio Production: Creating the scripts for VT

Creating the scripts for the VT
Before creating the script I came across this quote;

"If you haven't decided what the story is, how are you to know whether something is going to help you tell it or not?" - (Lewis, I. 2000: 107) This really put it into perspective the importance of planning and creating the right foundation for something to be executed well.

When creating the script there were a few things that I needed to remember in order to be on the right track from the beginning because I was still unsure about how to structure a script properly.

“A good script will be laid out in the conventional way, and will contain extensive stage directions…roughly 80 percent visual, 20 percent verbal” (Bramford, 2013: 39)
using the gued they gave me I was able to construct my script with the help of my own pre production notes as well as a rough guideline for the proportions within the script. Below are examples of the guide as well as the scripts for the First set of VTs

(Bramford, 2013: 40)

I believe my first draft script is formatted correctly when compared to the example given within the text. I am very happy that I have been able to have a guide of somewhat as it would've been much more difficult to write. Even though we have written scripts with Steve Coombs before, it was still a very long time ago.

Next steps

  • Begin to start sourcing potential actors for Norman
  • Get feedback on the draft scripts
  • Test out ideas
