Studio Production: Testing out the first script with Helen

For this exercise we were given the option to be able to use the scripts I made, and test out the ideas to see how it would work. Of course it wouldn't look as great because it is not logistically the same place, nor does it have the right props so we had to improvise with the shots and create the best that we could.

In this session we;

  • spent a long time working out logistics and getting fake props to replicate in the scenes.
  • Making sure the actress knows how long they should spend on each section since time is very essential for the VT's

**Unfortunately the video for this has gone missing**

This was the big turning point for the VTs as the feedback on this was not good. Helen felt as though it was lacking depth and there was a lot of awkward silence. She said that the character should be established more and so we may have to change the format of it and instead of it being norman recording himself, think about adding another presence in there and even look at a completely different genre suck as Mockumentary since these VTs have to have a good experience and not bring the production down. This was new to me and I was very disappointed that the script did not work however I was just following the producers visions as he really like the content that I made since it fit his vision.

Testing the Trivia Scripts

It was very difficult trying to remember the words so we must make sure that the actor has lots of time to prepare otherwise it could be disastrous.

Next steps,

  • Think of a contingency plan and create new content with depth
  • Look into the idea of a rockumentary and adding in the presence of someone else.
