Studio Production: My preferred idea

My Preferred idea to show to Helen  After sifting through the brainstormed ideas, I felt really stuck on what theme to go on but I was really caught up on all the different ideas that I found whilst brainstorming with the class. I thought I would just scrap all the other ideas I had because i wasn't able to come up with different rounds that were original/interesting enough "Fashion Buzz/ Fashion Dash" will be the name  Fashion themed where people make outfits with random materials. Could include a fashion quiz, rail dash on either location , use of VT to show what was previously done, The design could have neon lights, glitzy and glittery backgrounds.  "my boyfriend does my make up" is a make up trend that is popular on youtube, could bring this to life with a real life make up station where candidates take part.  A talk show corner and a challenge corner. balance it out to change pace.  surprise goody bag for audience member. pin the tail ...

Documentary: Nike Sweatshops: Behind The Swoosh

Nike Sweatshop: Behind the swoosh This is a documentary that was posted on youtube by a group called "teamsweat" in 2011. It is investigatory and expository as it aims to shed light on a popular brand who uses unethical ways of making their garments. With the use of archive footage and some actuality of sweat shops Shots starts of with a montage of developed places in america, the busy streets, the night life and carries a voice over with it. There is a character introducing himself and talking about what he does in his life (relating to footwear) - the beginning is similar to bowling for Colombine in the snse that there is a montage and a voice over except this one is not as hard hitting and direct in its approach. They have chosen to produce the problem at a later stage in the documentary whereas in Bowling for columbine, Moore was very direct in his approach.  This gets me thinking about how we could approach or documentary. “I was fascinated by how this boundary of personal space completely disappeared on the subway,”  Karel Funk Hyper-realist painter 44 years old  Canadian  Moved to Manhattan in 2001 MFA Columbia University Inspired by the close proximity of others whilst being crammed on a packed subway train as he was able to closely inspect every aspect of their features.  “You could see details of somebody’s ear or neck that you’d never observe just socialising with friends because there’s this boundary we all keep.” On contrary to the majority of portrait artists and the idea of portraits itself, I find Funk's work to be remarkable because you do not see the face.
