Locations When thinking about where I wanted to shoot Hideaway I was torn between  London or Maidstone because they both had a variety of Pros and Cons. By choosing to shoot in london meant that I wouldn't have to spend so much on the actor's travelling. However I would have to spend more on the crew's travel expenses because we have to use people from the uni. So my task was to figure out how to minimise costs but be as effective as possible when creating a good film. I want the locations to really suit the narrative therefore I will put that as the main concern. MOONLIGHT (2016) - Following the portrayal of main character and how the story is told. I was asked to look at Moonlight as a means of inspiration for story telling conventions by Simon. I wanted to look at how they portrayed the emotions of the character as well as the reoccurring significance of water that is interjected throughout.  Visuals - When looking at the visual story telling methods, it was clear that moonlight had a theme running throughout. I have noted down some of the main things I noticed when watching. Use of slow tracking shots, 1 take interactions where we follow the character from one scene to another. Since I have previously used this platform, I decided it would be a good idea to revisit this site as I managed to always find a lot of willing contributors for my previous films. My writer/ director role within this project requires me to take on two major roles and almost merge them into one. It may be challenging but it also means you have more control over what happens through out. Since my project is a narrative drama, I will be working with actors and must be able to give great direction to be able to get my vision across and get a good performance.  First I must understand what it means to be a Director and how I can effectively do this.  There are many elements that come into play when "directing" is discussed. This feedback tutorial with Simon was probably the most helpful tutorial of all as it really allowed me to dig even deeper into more ideas for a better story line.  Some of the key feedback points made in this session ;  The parents ; It still comes across as they are too against what he wants to do so it still comes across as they are the sole reason behind his depression. This misses the mark a little bit because it takes focus away from other possible issues. For example, its like when you push someone, they will be angry. I'd be given  The fundamental thing should be the fact that they aren't listening to Isaiah . This should be applied to the relationships shown. This showing that he will feel alone.  Don't have the parents get so angry, make it so it's as if he's invisible. They're not stopping him, they're just not listening.
