Directions: Chosen TV Drama series.

Image
The Walking Dead -Created by: Frank Darabont (adapted from comic book) -Directed by: Greg Nicotoro & Ernest R Dickerson -American television drama series, aired on AMC. -From 2010 to present After waking up in hospital to what seems to be a post apocalyptic world filled with zombies, Rick must find his way back to his family. The series then focuses on the survival of Rick's family and friends (whom he met along the way) as they encounter various dangerous life threatening situations.  The series is gripping, exciting and filled with unexpected encounters and run ins with zombies. The scene that I have chosen to replicate is this; Reasons why :  Although this scene doesn't include zombies, it illustrates the other dangers out there in their world.  Great scene that illustrates the lengths people will go for survival during the new way of living. Major theme throughout the show. It was a real turning point for the main character Rick.

Production notes and evalutation.

Notes on my production During the planning stage of my production, I researched and got inspiration from different places. I ended up having a clear idea of what I wanted my screenplay to be about and how I wanted it to look in the video. Actors and booking equipment. One of the actors that I originally had in mind to play my male character had agreed to play the part, however on the day before, he had to drop out because of personal reasons. Luckily 2 of my classmates where able to step in for me last minute. As I booked the equipment for 3 days, I basically only had one full day of filming because of the timings that I had to collect and return the equipment so it was really important that I filmed that day, especially how all the cameras had become booked up by that time. I would say that I booked out my equipment quite late, although it was still earlier than some, I think I should've planned my shooting dates a little bit better and sooner. However I still think

Short film: The New West

Image
The New West Written and Directed by Peter Edlund  "A classic revenge tale begins in a schoolyard and ends at the heart of the modern frontier." The first thing I immediately noticed about this short film was the opening titles. It started with what sounded like diegetic sound, a boy screaming but the screen was still black. Then it flashed to a burning backpack and then back to black. The fact that you can hear what's happening but not see what's happening creates a sense of mystery. Not only that, you're immediately thrown into the action. I think this is a good starting point and it really sets the tone for the film. Even the end credits was really clever in my opinion, it appeared whilst the action was still going on. It allowed you to get a little bit of closure as to what the character would do next and it also made you read the credits because it was right next to the action. I really liked that aspect of the film. Since I have not

My Pre production: Risk assessment/Actor contract/ Location Recee

Image
Location Recee Messy bedroom pros: perfect for portraying the characteristics of one of the main characters. Their messy lifestyle will be shown by having strategically placed items dotted all over the room and the bedside table. Cons: The items on the floor restricts my movement and space. I must be spatially aware at all times to avoid injury or damage to the equipment. CLEAN/GIRLY BEDROOM pros: Excellet for portraying my character's organised lifestyle. the room is bright with lots of pink hues in it, further illustrating her "girly" identity. The room is also bright and filled with light. - The room is also pretty big and because there isn't anything on the floor, there is more room for me to move around in with the equipment. cons: The bathroom in the bedroom produces a humming noise from the vent fan once the light is on. There will be some scenes taking place in there and it will be hard to hide that unless I dub over it. Lu
